Villa Miranda is a luxury holiday home available for rent situated close to Palma, Mallorca. It is in a stunning location with beautiful views down to the sea. The attention to detail and the quality of the finishes in the villa are 5-star, as is the furnishings. The villa is a "sister" villa to Holiday Villas Conil, another project that we were developing in tandem with this one.
As the website was to have the same look and feel as the sister site we had already developed, the design process was quite fast! Our main focus was the logo and the colours. The imagery for the villa was very vibrant, so in keeping with the location we made the green theme dominate the colour swatch. Secondary colours were gold and grey, in line with the sister website.
A large part of the project was the selection of images - choosing two images that complimented each other for each page of the site. This meant selecting approx 70 images that were a perfect tonal match - the design team worked closely with the photographer on this. A beautiful full screen gallery of images was also developed.
The website itself had to be built around the images, the client was very adamant that the website should sell the properties through professional photos. The website had to give a very fresh and "seaside" feeling and be compatible on all mobile devices. Instead of offering a flash gallery, we elected to use a jQuery slideshow and give the images prominent positioning, each page has relevant hand selected photos.
