There are many rumours floating around at the moment that Ebay is preparing to sell Skype and the mostly likely suitor is Google.
I have previously pointed out that the purchase of Skype by Google could be a “match made in heaven”. The pairing of Google's Android mobile phone platform and the Skype phone service would provide a fantastic new dynamic to mobile communications and it could be just a matter of time before it becomes a reality.
Skype now offers its customers three unlimited calling plans:
- Unlimited Country €2.95/month €3.39 incl. VAT
- Unlimited Europe €3.95/month €4.54 incl. VAT
- Unlimited World €8.95/month
Is Skype preparing to get into the big leagues by positioning itself on the Android platform and offering low cost call services? If we can use this online service to call anyone within our current country for just €2.95 a month, imagine the changes awaiting on the horizon!
